This activity code is used to activate the Version management functionality.

Version management allows all changes to a product or a procedure to be managed using a systematic approach. Version management might be required to manage the following:

  • Increased or significant changes to the 'form', 'fit' or 'function'
  • Deviations from the original design
  • Minor features or changes in functionality
  • Significant fixes.

The following functions are impacted by the activity code  :

  Stock > Versions

  Setup > Stock > Version counters

Linked activity codes

The following technical activity codes are linked to the code ECC.These codes are never entered in folder management, because their value is calculated.

  ECCMX (Max number of versions).

Activity code ECCMX is used by the Material Requirements Planning (MRP) process for managing active versions when calculating replenishments.
