Business Intelligence server on Windows

This document describes the minimum configuration requirements when installing a SAFE X3 Business Intelligence server on a Microsoft Windows server.

Operating system	Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 x64. Microsoft Windows Server 2012 R2 x64.
.Net Framework	Microsoft .Net Framework version 3.5. On Windows 2008, you need to manually install latest update of the package .Net Framework 3.5. Since Windows Server 2012, .Net Framework 3.5 is now a Feature on Demand. So the administrator needs to enable the single .Net Framework 3.5 feature.
Business Intelligence Platform	SAP BusinessObjects BI platform 4.1 64 bits SP3 Patch 1
Minimum Hardware Requirements	Please refer to the BI 4 Sizing Companion Guide, located at http://www.sap.com/bisizing
Database access	If your Sage X3 Application server is based on an Oracle database installation, you need to install the Oracle Client 11gR2 64 bits software on the server. This layer is necessary for BO software to communicate with the Sage X3 Oracle database. It is also necessary to install the Oracle Client 11gR2 32 bits software. This layer is necessary for BO client tools software to generate BO universes.
Others	A SAFE X3 ADXADMIN administration runtime must be installed on the server. A JDK or Java Runtime Environment (version 7 or later) must be installed.
