Freight commodity code
The product's NMFC (National Motor Freight Codes) code identifies the freight class, and the freight class determines the carriers' shipping charges. The freight commodity code is associated with the product category and product-site record.
You can define the freight commodity codes for each type of product that can be shipped by a carrier.
The NMFTA (National Motor Freight Traffic Association) provides the NMFC code to use in the Bill of lading function.
