Uninstalling Sage X3

This document summarizes the main steps to uninstall a complete SAFE X3 solution on a Windows server.

Pre-requisites

  1. Make sure you have a working understanding of the products used by Sage X3 (Windows, Oracle, SQL Server, etc.). Do not proceed if this is not the case.
  2. Make sure you test the information contained in this document before using it in a live situation.

Uninstallation steps

  1. Deconfigure all linked servers (the Web server and the Print server):
    1. Unpublish all solutions linked to each server.
    2. Deconfigure each linked server.
  2. Deconfigure the additional process servers by clicking Deconfiguration in the Process servers tab.
  3. Deconfigure the application and the principal process server by clicking Deconfiguration in the Data - Application tab.
The solution is deleted but the database server remains intact for security reasons.
  4. Stop the following services from the Windows control panel:
    1. Main engine for the solution carried out by the console.
    2. OracleService / MSSQLServer$ database service.
    3. Print server service carried out by the console.
  5. Remove the following programs from the Windows Add/Remove programs function:
    • Sage SAFE X3 Runtime Component - Name of the component
    • SAFE X3 V2 Print Server
    • Sage X3 Application Component - Name of the component
    • SAFE X3 V2 Management Console
    • Microsoft SQL Server 2012 (SID) program (for SQL Server databases only)
If you want to keep the instance, you can delete the SAFE X3 database using the Enterprise Manager administration tool.
    • Sage SAFE X3 AdxAdmin
Caution: The AdxAdmin must be uninstalled last because it contains information necessary for the uninstallation of other components. Do not stop this component during the uninstallation of other components.
Caution: This component is common to versions 14x, 5, 6, and 7. Do not uninstall it if any of these versions are configured.
  6. For Oracle databases only, delete the database service from a DOS window:
    OracleService: oradim -delete -sid .
  7. Go to H_L_M>SOFTWARE>Adonix in the Windows registry manager, and make sure the descriptions of the product components are properly deleted.
  8. Delete the product services declaration in c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\services.
  9. Delete the product components folders (database, folders, runtime, console, etc.) from Windows Explorer.
