Handling Legacy Passwords
Authentication in Sage X3 is managed through the Web server, and the connection is secured by certificates. However, there remain some legacy functions that require a V6 password. If you are using these functions, you may still have to handle a V6 password for some dedicated users. Listed below are the functions requiring it:
- The table maintenance, when parameter ASIGMNT is set to "Yes" (this applies to certain legislations).
- The SOAP web services connection with the V6 Web server pool.
- The ADC terminal connections.
For this reason, legacy password functions have not been completely disabled in Sage X3. Two functions are available to handle these passwords:
- One that erases the version 6 password for a given user.
- One that sets the version 6 password for the current user.
