Partner license tool
Since Update 8, partners can manage licenses for their add-ons and control the access with the same structure as the standard.
The main principle is to:
-
Define the structure of the application. This structure is described in a file called the Policy file.
-
Grant access to functions or services with limitations described in a License file.
The control program:
-
Uses the concept of badges and key functions
-
Authorizes full access to key functions if the number of concurrent users of the badge defined in the license is not exceeded
Add-on licenses are imported into the server in the same way as a Standard license.
The licensing tool is a stand-alone application and includes a mechanism that allows you to create private and public encryption keys. This tool is provided to you free of charge by Sage.
If you want to use this tool, you need to ask for it from your support team.
The tool has a light structure and is installable on any desktop with a setup. It is available in English with dedicated documentation.
After installation, you have to create a pair of encryption keys and follow the process.
Please refer to the additional documentation on the Partner License tool on the online help center.
Partner file
Extract your public key and send it to sales administration while requesting to get your partner file signed by Sage.
You will receive a partner file signed with Sage's private key.
This partner file includes:
- Your ID as a partner
- Your address
- Your public key
- A range of codification allowed for your vertical solutions
- A digital signature by Sage that seals your partner file
Upload your partner file, you are ready!
Creating your policy files
A policy file defines a product and its protection policy:
- What is included
- What the license must control
- What the main functions are
- Any parameter that should be checked
A policy file refers to a standard Sage product, and it can be versioned.
Creating a license file
A partner gives a license file to a final customer.
It includes options, languages, number of concurrent users per badges, and parameter values.
It is linked to a policy file.
It can be a demo license with limited validity date.
