Period and fiscal year management - Closing controls

The DGI rules establish that the software must support the management of monthly periods by fiscal year.

The software must also ensure that the accounting entries of the period have been generated during the period closing process.

Functional translation

When creating fiscal years1 and then accounting periods2, to meet the 1st requirement above, you must be careful to follow the monthly period splitting rule for your main general ledger and main IAS ledger.

For Fixed assets, refer to the Control of accounting periods section in this document.

Period closing controls partly3 depend on some specific parameter values4. For French legislation, you cannot change the value of these parameters, which default to a preset value expected for DGI compliance:

  • FARCLOPER - Control of invoices receivable (ACH chapter, INV group): Blocking by period.

For each period to be closed, if the invoices to be received have not been posted (control applied up to the period end date), a blocking error message is triggered and the period is not closed.

  • SVCCLOPER - Accruals in closing period (CPT chapter, CLO group): Blocking.

For each period to be closed, if accruals have not been posted (considering the end date of the period being closed as the reference date), a blocking message is triggered and the period closing is not performed.

  • STOCLOPER - Stock period control (STO chapter, ACC group): Blocking by period.

For each period to be closed, if unposted movements exist in the stock journal (STOJOU) with a posting date (IPTDAT) within the period being closed, a blocking warning message is triggered and the period is not closed.
