Automated Data Collection for Shop floor tracking

Clock in

Open: Automated Data Collection > Manufacturing > Shop floor tracking > Clock in

You must clock in if it is required for the site. If you are part of a Detailed team each team member needs to clock in. You cannot clock in a Detailed team.

Emp. Type in one of the following:

  • Your Employee ID.
  • For Summary teams, the Employee ID for the team.

Site. Leave the default site defined on your user profile. Alternatively, you can enter or use Sel to select a production site.

When you select Ok a screen displays your clock in time.

Clock out

Open: Automated Data Collection > Manufacturing > Shop floor tracking > Clock out

Emp. Type in one of the following:

  • Your Employee ID.
  • For Summary teams, the Employee ID for the team.

Select Ok to clock out and close all open activities.

Break start

Open: Automated Data Collection > Manufacturing > Shop floor tracking > Break start

The Elapsed prompt is available to users with the Elapsed time check box enabled.

Emp. Type in one of the following:

  • Your Employee ID.
  • For Summary teams, the Employee ID for the team.

Site. Leave the default site defined on your user profile. Alternatively, you can enter or use Sel to select a production site.

Break code. Enter or use Sel to select a break code.

Elapsed. The default value is based on the value provided by the SFTELPDEF - Automated Data Collection (ADC) elapsed time default parameter (GPA chapter, CTL group). A Yes value allows you to enter the duration.

When you select Ok a screen confirms that your break started.

Break stop

Open: Automated Data Collection > Manufacturing > Shop floor tracking > Break stop

Emp. Type in one of the following:

  • Your Employee ID.
  • For Summary teams, the Employee ID for the team.

Site. Leave the default site defined on your user profile. Alternatively, you can enter or use Sel to select a production site.

Break code. Defaults to the current break code.

Select Ok to stop the activity. A screen displays the end time.

Setup start

Open: Automated Data Collection > Manufacturing > Shop floor tracking > Setup start

The following fields are disabled if the primary work center is a labor type:

  • Mach
  • Lab WC - if the primary work center is a labor type, and if the original operation does not have a secondary work center.

Emp. Type in one of the following:

  • Your Employee ID.
  • For Summary teams, the Employee ID for the team.

Site. Leave the default site defined on your user profile. Alternatively, you can enter or use Sel to select a production site.

WO. Enter or scan the work order number. You can also use Sel to select an open work order at the production site.

Work orders observe the following rules based on parameter settings:

  1. If the MTKALLMGT – Allocation to the WO mandatory parameter (GPA chapter, CTL group) is set to Yes, you cannot track the work order if materials have not been allocated.
  2. If the DOSFAB – Printing WO documents parameter (GPA chapter, CTL group) is set to Mandatory, the work order must be printed before tracking.

Op. Enter or use Sel to select a valid operation for the work order. A valid operation meets the following conditions:

  • It cannot be closed, excluded, or ordered.
  • It does not contain a labor work center that is a subcontract type.
  • It is not already closed.
  • It is not a subcontract operation.
If the CTLOPEPRE - Expected operation tracking company parameter (GPA chapter, CTL group) is set to Yes, operations must be tracked in order based on the routing. You cannot select an operation if the previous operation has not been tracked.

Mach. This field defaults to the number of resources for the operation for the work order, or 0 (zero) if an activity is in progress for the selected operation. Enter the number of machines other than 0 when the primary work center is a machine type and the labor work center is blank.

WC. This field defaults to the work center assigned to the operation. You can enter or use Sel to select a work center.

Lab WC. This field defaults to the labor work center assigned to the operation. You can enter or use Sel to select a labor work center.

When you select Ok to start the activity a screen displays the start time.

Setup stop

Open: Automated Data Collection > Manufacturing > Shop floor tracking > Setup stop

Emp. Type in one of the following:

  • Your Employee ID.
  • For Summary teams, the Employee ID for the team.

Site. Leave the default site defined on your user profile. Alternatively, you can enter or use Sel to select a production site.

WO. Enter or use Sel to select an open work order at the site.

Op. Enter or use Sel to select an active operation for the work order.

Select Ok to stop the activity.

Run start

Open: Automated Data Collection > Manufacturing > Shop floor tracking > Run start

If the selected operation has an active setup, you are asked if you want to stop the setup and start the run. You can select Yes to stop the setup, or No to continue with the setup activity.

Run stop

Open: Automated Data Collection > Manufacturing > Shop floor tracking > Run stop

Emp. Type in one of the following:

  • Your Employee ID.
  • For Summary teams, the Employee ID for the team.

Site. Leave the default site defined on your user profile. Alternatively, you can enter or use Sel to select a production site.

WO. Enter or use Sel to select an open work order at the site.

Op. Enter or use Sel to select an operation for the work order.

Compl. Enter the completed quantity.

If the entered quantity is greater than the estimated quantity a warning displays. Use Continue to accept the larger quantity.

Rej. Enter the rejected quantity when the completed quantity is more than 0 (zero). You cannot enter a value greater than the completed quantity.

Rej code. Enter or use Sel to provide a reason for the rejection. This field is not available if the rejected quantity is 0 (zero).

Close. Enter Yes to close an operation. This field defaults to Yes when the planned quantity for an operation is complete.

Select Ok to stop the operation.

Indirect start

Open: Automated Data Collection > Manufacturing > Shop floor tracking > Indirect start

The Elapsed prompt is available to users with the Elapsed time check box enabled.

  • Your Employee ID.
  • For Summary teams, the Employee ID for the team.

Site. Leave the default site defined on your user profile. Alternatively, you can enter or use Sel to select a production site.

Ind code. Enter or use Sel to select an Indirect code.

Elapsed. The default value is based on the value provided by the SFTELPDEF - Automated Data Collection (ADC) elapsed time default parameter (GPA chapter, CTL group). A Yes value allows you to enter the duration.

Duration. Enter the time in minutes for the activity.

When you select Ok a screen confirms that the elapsed indirect time was created.

Activities where the duration is entered do not require a "stop".

Indirect stop

Open: Automated Data Collection > Manufacturing > Shop floor tracking > Indirect stop

Emp. Type in one of the following:

  • Your Employee ID.
  • For Summary teams, the Employee ID for the team.

Site. Leave the default site defined on your user profile. Alternatively, you can enter or use Sel to select a production site.

Ind code. Defaults to the current Indirect code.

Select Ok to stop the activity.

Elapsed labor

Open: Automated Data Collection > Manufacturing > Shop floor tracking > Elapsed labor

Elapsed labor must be enabled on your profile for you to enter elapsed labor. If not, you receive a message that you do not have access.

If the actual quantity is greater than the estimated quantity, you receive a warning. Select Ok to dismiss the warning. Cancel takes you to the previous screen to change the quantity completed.

Rej. Enter the rejected quantity when the completed quantity is more than 0 (zero). You cannot enter a value greater than the completed quantity.

Rej code. Enter or use Sel to provide a reason for the rejection. This field is not available if the rejected quantity is 0 (zero).

Close. Enter Yes to close an operation. This field defaults to Yes when the planned quantity for an operation is complete.

When you select Ok a screen confirms that the elapsed labor was created.
