Summary of the procedure

  1. List all servers involved in your Sage X3 environment and check which Oracle JRE/JDK is installed.
  2. Download the latest Azul Systems Zulu JRE and/or JDK 8 distribution and save it in a convenient location.
  3. Stop the Elasticsearch Windows service associated with the Syracuse server or Syracuse cluster.
    If you have multiple Elasticsearch servers in a cluster, stop them all.
  4. On any server hosting Sage X3 components:
  1. Uninstall Oracle JRE/JDK 8 (if you have multiple versions, which is not recommended, remove them all)
  2. Clean up Oracle Java directories (this step is optional)
  3. Install Azul Systems Zulu JRE or JDK 8
  1. On any server hosting Elasticsearch, which was stopped at step 3:
  1. Edit the registry to replace the old location for Oracle JDK 8 by the new one for Azul Systems Zulu JDK 8
  2. Restart Elasticsearch Windows service
  1. Test the search engine in Sage X3.
