Cash flow

Description

A process will trigger all the transactions with cash accounts. It will analyze the counterpart accounts from that entry journal. It will characterize those amounts according to a specific setup.

Prerequisites

Activity code CSFLO - Cash flow analysis should be activated.

Setup

In the header of the Extraction parameter function (GESCSF), create your main filtering criteria associated with an extraction code.

  • Extraction code field: free alpha code and description to identify the criteria group.
  • Company field: company or a group of companies. For a group of companies, users can ask for the BP details.
  • Ledger type field, Amount type field and Accounts to be analyzed field: the users define the ledger type, the amount type and the cash accounts they want to analyze.
  • Rate variance process check box: the users define how they want to analyze the rate deviations. It can be:

By account - In this case, select the Rate var process check box. Every time an account is found in an eligible entry journal and set in the Chart of accounts function (GESCOA) as a rate deviation account, the system searches the BP account on the original document.

By original BP and linked account - In this case, do not select the Rate var process check box.

On the lines of the Setup grid, specify a code and a sub-code for grouping all transactions where the counterparts are accounts set in the Original accounts column.

  • Original accounts column: accounts configuration following the same setup rules as in Financial Data Extraction.
  • Code column and Subcode column: grouping codes and sub-codes.
  • Description column: description for each grouping criteria.

Previous recommendations before execution

The process is the following:

Starting amount + movements = end amount

The balance recovery must be carried out before running the cash flow process.

The year-end simulation must be completed after the balance recovery and before running the cash flow process.

Data extraction

In the header of the Cash flow analysis function (GESCSRH):

  • In the Extraction code field, select the extraction code previously created.
  • In the Site field, select the site or sites to be inquired.
  • In the Extraction start date and Extraction end date fields, select the period you want to analyze.
  • To display the homologous period, select the Previous period check box.

Then click the Calculate action. Lines are loaded and display data.

You can then modify the amounts as you wish, but the following control must be respected:

Amount at the start of the period + movements of the period = amount at the end of the period

P-CASHFLO report

Once the results are generated, the P-CASHFLO report can be printed.
