This function has the Objective to define the reordering policies.
The reordering policies is used in the MRP and MPS processes. It is linked to the product-site.
The reordering policies are sued for a given product to specify certain details during the requirements calculations (MRP & MPS) to identify the suggestion type, the reorder quantity, the splitting, the safety stock, the use of the loss percentage and the replanning analysis.

Suggestions type
The requirements calculations process generates two types of information :
Explanation of the identified requirement (log file) :
With respect to a demand, a reorder suggestion is generated on the BOM parent product.
This suggestion as well as the resources already present on a component, (planned or firm orders) triggering a requirement for any components are entered in the log file (order type MWS, MWP or MWF, according to the status of the parent product resource).
The requirement carries the same document number as the order at the origin of the requirement.
The different values of suggestion type are :
Reorder quantities
This parameter is used to fix the quantity proposed for the reordering with respect to the requirement. The possible choices are :
Splitting
The splitting represents the possibility to establish quantity suggestions equal to the technical lot. These suggestions cane be positioned in parallel or successively.
Example
Product A1 : Economic lot : 500 pieces / Technical lot : 100 pieces
Starting stock : 0
Reorder policy | Splitting | If requirement = 450<minimum quantity | If requirement = 650<minimum quantity |
Net requirement | No splitting | 1 sugg = 450 | 1 sugg = 650 |
Splitting by lot | 4 sugg of 100 + 1 sugg of 50 | 6 sugg of 100 + 1 sugg of 50
Minimum quantity without lot rounding | No splitting | 1 sugg of 500 | 1 sugg of 650 |
Splitting by lot | 5 sugg of 100 | 6 sugg of 100 + 1 sugg of 50
Minimum quantity with lot rounding | No splitting | 1 sugg of 500 | 1 sugg of 700 |
Splitting by lot | 5 sugg of 100 | 7 sugg of 100 |
Safety stock
It is necessary to indicate if the safety stock in included in the requirement.
Replanning analysis
It is necessary to indicate if a replanning analysis must be carried out beyond the firm horizon for the product.
Product loss percentage
It is necessary to check this box if the production suggestions must be increased by the loss percentage for the product site and if the outstanding quantities on the production orders in process must be decreased by this same percentage.
