Context synchronization
The purpose of this utility is to restore the consistency between the fiscal year/period breakdown on the Financials side and the one on the Fixed assets side.
This consistency control is applied as soon as the ACCPERCTL - Accounting period control parameter is set to 'Yes'.
A situation of inconsistency occurs when a modification, on the Financials side, is done on the fiscal year/period breakdown of a ledger type. This modification marks the depreciation contexts of the company that use this ledger as desynchronized.
If at least one context of the company is desynchronized, no more unit or mass business action is authorized (revaluation, depreciation, method change, closing, etc.) on the Fixed assets side for this company.
Since closing on the Fixed assets side is prohibited, closing on the Financials side is, as a result, no longer possible. The implementation of this Synchronization utility resolves this blocking situation.
The situation of de-synchronization of a context can be viewed on the Detailed status of contexts,Calculation tab (the value of the Modification type field is: 'Context' and the value of the field Modified Parameter is: 'DESYNC').
Prerequisites
Refer to documentation Implementation
Screen management
Entry screen
Launching this utility only requires entering identification information for the company and context to process.
It is possible to mass launch the processing for all the contexts of a company or all companies.
In the case of a desynchronization of a context used for the management of working orders: the working orders of any potential associated production plan will be updated on the basis of the resynchronization period, using the number of working orders of the last period not affected by the re-breakdown.It might then be necessary to re-enter these quantities and to submit a depreciation calculation.
Options
Simulation (field FLGSIM) |
This check box is selected by default and runs the closing in simulation mode. In this case, controls and the process are carried out but there are no updates recorded in the database. Clear this check box to run in actual mode. In this case, you cannot reverse the closing and updates are recorded in the database. If you are using intermediate commits, it is recommended that the NIVTRACE – Log file level parameter (AAS chapter, MIS group) value is 0. |
Parameters
All companies (field FLGALLCPY) |
Select the All companies check box to include all companies or leave this check box unselected and enter a specific company in the Company field. |
Company (field CPY) |
This field displays the company code. |
All contexts (field FLGALLCNX) |
When it is activated, this tick box enables the user to specify that the process must be applied to all the contexts (either for all the companies or for the selected company). |
Context (field CNX) |
Enter the depreciation context. |
Processing description
The processing performs on each of the contexts:
- the fiscal year/period breakdown of the context and aligns it with that of the financials,
- the following actions necessary to take into account this new breakdown:
- deletion of the charges (records of the DEPREC table) dated later than the current period,
- deletion of the flows (records of the FXDLIFL) dated later than the current period and current fiscal year,
- if applicable, deletion of the provisions for renewal (records of the CCNRPR table) dated later than the current period,
- update of the production plans,
- marking the context for recalculation.
Post-requisites
If there exists a production plan in the company or companies whose contexts are subject to the synchronization processing, it is necessary to update the production units based on the current period. Indeed, the synchronization processing systematically deletes all the production units which exist in the periods previously defined.
Associated batch task
This function can be run in batch mode, but no dedicated standard task is delivered to run it.
Error messages
In addition to the generic error messages, the following messages can appear during the entry :
LOAD_INFO_CONTEXT 1 xx 1 4 12
xx corresponds to the code of the company being processed.
This message is displayed when a posterior fiscal year FY+1 exists on the Financials and Fiscal context of Fixed Assets but does not exist in the accounting fiscal years.
In this case, you must create this fiscal year on the Financials side with the same period splitting as the Fixed Assets' FY. It is not necessary to open this FY or the periods.
Once the accounting FY has been created, launch the Contexts synchronization utility again. Uncheck the Simulation box so the synchronization processing can be run in real mode.
