The Adonix software makes it possible to manage translatable application text.

These texts are stored in table ATEXTRA and correspond to the AXX data type (generic type), AX1, AX2, AX3 (types dedicated to short, normal and long titles). In this table, the texts are identified with the name of the text origin table, the field code, the record key and the language code. A view named AWVTEXTRA is used to access easily the concerned texts in Crystal Reports™ directly via a join.

A function integrated to Crystal Reports also exists which is used to access a list of texts stored directly on the workstation executing the report. This function is notably used to organize the translation of fix titles of this type used in some documents, like for instance the invoice footer texts).

Using local texts rather than server texts does not bring many advantages in the version 150, but this solution is still used because some reports still make use of this possibility.

These local texts are refreshed automatically on the workstation from a file situated on the server, which is itself updated by this function.

In order to prevent too many texts from being transferred, which would slow down the access to the local texts upon execution of reports of this type. Are only copied the texts coming from tables for which the box Generation of translatable texts is ticked (in the first tab of the dictionary of tables).

It is therefore necessary to launch this function when translatable texts have been updated in the software.
