Freight class

Use this function to define the delivery methods to use for shipping. Freight classes help you get standardized freight pricing for your shipment when working with different carriers.

A freight class is based on weight, length and height, density, ease of handling, value and liability from things like theft, damage, breakability, and spoilage. You must use freight classes to prepare a bill of lading.

Screen management

Entry screen

Short title used in the screens and reports. This title is recorded in your connection language.

By default the short title, the long title or the column header of a data are recorded (on creation/update) in the connection language of the user.
You can add your translation in another language using the Translation function:

  • Click Translation from the Actions icon in the corresponding field.
  • In the Translation window, add a new language code with the translation in this language.

A user who logs on with this language will view the short description, long description or column header in their connection language if a translation exists. Otherwise, these descriptions will be available in the folder language.

Note:

The connection language must be defined as a default language for thefolder.

Freight class (field FRTCLS)

Enter the freight class to use for calculating freight charges and the preparation of a bill of lading.

Legislation (field LEG)

In creation mode, the legislation code can be initialized via the user parameter LEGFIL - Legislation (selection filter) (SUP chapter, INT group).
When a legislation code is applied, the transaction nature can only be used by companies under this legislation.

Active (field ENAFLG)

Use this check box to specify if the freight class code is active.

  • If this check box is selected, the freight class is used in other records such as product category, product-site, and bill of lading.
  • If this check box is cleared, the freight class is considered to be inactive and cannot be selected.
Description (field DESAXX)

This long description is used as a title in screens and reports.

By default the short title, the long title or the column header of a data are recorded (on creation/update) in the connection language of the user.

Short description (field SHOAXX)
Group (field SOC)

Use this field to access the site/company groups available.

The group entered in this field is used to filter the information to display and maintain the consistency of the function setup.

The only error messages are the generic ones.
