EU Commodity Code
This commodity code, common to all EU member states, is used in exchanges between EU members. The EU commodity code is used to codify products into different categories.

Enter three pieces of information to define a customs commodity code:
- An eight-digit NC8 commodity code.
- An 80-character translatable title used to provide a translation for multi-country folders.
- A 250-character long description.
- An additional unit if required.
You can associate a product with a customs commodity code in the Identification section from the Products record.
When extracting intra-EU movements, this commodity code is considered in the EU exchange declaration.

This long description is used as a title in screens and reports. By default the short title, the long title or the column header of a data are recorded (on creation/update) in the connection language of the user.
A user who logs on with this language will view the short description, long description or column header in their connection language if a translation exists. Otherwise, these descriptions will be available in the folder language. The connection language must be defined as a default language for thefolder. |
Description (field ITMCUSDES) |
Long description (250 characters) of the commodity code. The long description is displayed in French, regardless of the login language. To display this description in your login language, import the file provided by the customs from your country using the ITMNOM import template. |
Additional unit (field ITMCUSUOM) |
Enter an additional unit only if required by the product commodity code. Additional units are units of measure different from the kilogram, such as shoe size, liter, gram, etc. Such a behavior is for information purposes only and is not directly used in the application. The unit used is the EU unit defined on the Products record from the Units section. |
