Entities - Implementation
Prerequisites
Entities are attached to the module "Operating budgets". Implementing this module implies the setup of budget codes being used. This function, common to the operating budgets and the analytical budgets, is used to assign the created budget type to the operating budgets and to assign the necessary analysis dimension types to said created budget type. "Entities" and "Budget envelopes", combined to the budget chart of accounts. Creating an "Entity" dimension type must necessarily mean that the "Entity" flag is selected.
The setup of the application general structure must include an account core model whose main ledger is "Analytical", and which specifies the ledger being used.
In the ledger being used, the "Operating Budgets" accounting type must be activated, and an "Entity" dimension type code must be defined.
Activity codes
The following activity codes (sorted by type) may have an impact on the way the function operates :
Functional
GDD : Operating budgets
Sizing
ANA : No. of analytical dimensions
Authorizations
This function is object managed. The creation, modification, and deletion operations can be activated or deactivated for a given user. Filters by roles can also be associated with this function.
A filter by access code is performed, based on the field named ACS. If an acess code is given, the inquiry and modification rights are granted according to the reading and writing rights associated with the code of the current user in their function profile.
This Access code protects the access to entity data, when entered: Present in the left lists, entity entry and modification, entry restriction for the Access code via quick selection and control.
It is then propagated to envelopes, budgets by fiscal years, approvals and revisions when creating these objects.
