Use this parameter when creating an asset in Fixed assets or when importing using the FASX3 or FAS standard import templates.

Yes – When creating an asset, the same number of physical elements specified for an asset at the time of validation are automatically generated when you validate. The Entry origin field for each physical element generated is a set to Automatic creation.

No - This is the default setting when the PHYAUTNUM - Physical asset numbering parameter is set to None.

Automatically creating and attaching physical elements is only possible if there are no physical element already attached to the asset such as during an import or by manually creating and attaching elements. When creating the asset, if physical elements are created and/or attached manually, the automatic creation mechanism is not implemented.

Comments

If this parameter value is Yes, the automatic numbering managed by the PHYAUTNUM - Physical asset numbering parameter must be set to Mandatory or Optional. If PHYAUTNUM is set to None, then PHYAUTCRE is automatically set to No.

The reference allocated to the physical elements automatically created is based on the sequence number setup allocated to the Physical element reference type document in the Sequence numbers and Sequence number assignment functions.
