Stock period control

This parameter—STOCLOPER—defines whether the stock period or the fiscal year can close if unposted movements or cost adjustments exist.

Non-blocking: This is the default value for this parameter. There are no checks for unposted movements or cost adjustments. A stock period and the fiscal year close when requested.

Blocking by period: When each stock period is closed, whether or not it’s the last period, checks are made for unposted movements or cost adjustments that have a posting date in the period being closed. If movements or cost adjustments are found, a warning displays and the period closure is blocked. A log file provides details of the product-site that has records that were not processed.

Blocking by fiscal year: When the last period in the fiscal year is closed, if the stock and/or WO accounting interface is active (the ACCIFA—Accounting interface (STO chapter, ACC group) parameter and/or OPEIFA—WIP Accounting interface (GPA chapter, ACC group) parameters are set to Yes), checks are made for unposted movements or cost adjustments that have a posting date in a period of the fiscal year being closed. If movements or cost adjustments are found, a warning displays and the fiscal year closure is blocked. A log file provides details of the product-site that has records that were not processed.

Level of localization/Global variable

This parameter is defined at the level Company. It belongs to Chapter STO (Inventory) and the Group ACC (Accounting Interface). The following parameters are also associated with this chapter and group:

Comments

  • For French companies, the value of this parameter is Blocking by period and cannot be modified.
  • The period closing process changes the stock period status to Prohibited when the FRADGI—Regulation DGI NO. 13L-1-06 parameter is set to Yes, and when the ACCIFA—Accounting interface (STO chapter, ACC group) parameter and/or the OPEIFA—WIP accounting interface (STO chapter, ACC group) parameter are set to Yes.

  • Stock controls are performed when a period is closed and when the CLOPER—Pre-closing verification report launches. Observe the following warning messages:

    • [Site:] Some stock movements still need to be posted.
    • [Site:] There is still some subcontract in process that needs to be posted.
    • [Site/Product:] Cost adjustments have not been processed.
