Import session

Administration Page Application/Contract Syracuse/Collaboration Class importSessions Representation importSession

Using the import tool that updates the mongodb administration database creates a journal of the modifications. This function displays this journal and allows to trigger undo operations.

When the query page is displayed, a list of the import sessions appears with the following information:

Description

Describes the import session. By default, the text displayed is Generic import session.

Import Date

States the date and hour when the import procedure began.

Errors and Warnings

These two fields display a list of errors and warning messages that occurred during the import. Errors are related to unfulfilled conditions that made the import of some data elements impossible. Warnings are messages that can be resolved by updating the imported data.

Import types

This grid displays one line per type of element being imported. For example, at the end of an import session generated by the portal generation tools, the following lines are shown:

  • menuItem
  • portlet
  • dashboardDef

Each line can be opened to display two tabs:

  • The first tab lists all elements that are created during the import session
  • The second tab lists all elements that are modified during the import session

Each item in the list has a link that points to its detailed description.

Links present at global level

Update

This link updates the import session log. This allows to delete some links on created or updated elements. This is essential in case an undo operation is required. Only the remaining elements of the import session log will be included.

Delete

This link deletes the import session log. No log will remain and no additional undo operation will be possible.

Delete created objects

This link will partially undo the import operation by deleting the objects being created by the import session.

Delete updated objects

This link deletes the objects being updated by the import session. This operation is to be handled carefully because it might delete elements used by other dashboards. This operation should not be used unless restarting the import operation is planned after correcting errors in the data to be imported.

Endpoint

Displays the endpoint name if the data to be imported is restricted to an endpoint.
