This function is used to modify the status of the lots close to their expiry date in order to delay them or to re-check them.
It is prudent not to leave this until the lot is expired before changing its status. In this way, the function is used to select the lots to be processed as a function of their expiry date incorporating a safety margin in order to process the lots several days before they arrive at their expiry date.
Refer to documentation Implementation
The obsolete lot status change function is made up of a header section used to enter the criteria to select lots arriving at their expiry date and a grid that specifies the statuses to be assigned by the process as a function of the original status and sub-status.
Presentation
The function is used to select lots arriving to expiry to a reference date with the field "Lot obsolete on the".
The default selection of lots arriving to expiry is indicated to "Date of the day + margin".
Once the lots are selected, the system sums up the statuses and sub-statuses existing for the selected lots in a table and displays the substitute statuses and sub-statuses available.
The lots with "A status" go to "Q status" or R depending on what is set for the item as for the use-by date management.
The lots with "A1 status" will go to "Q1 or R1, etc. status". The destination statuses of the table can be edited manually in order to replace the "Q* and/or R* statuses " by the sub-statuses desired.
At process end, the system generates a list summarizing:

This column indicates the destination sub-status that corresponds to "status A + associated sub-status". If the original sub-status is not managed for "status Q" in the sub-status table, it is deleted. If the product setup foresees it, the status change to "status Q" leads to the generation of a quality control for the lots of the product concerned. |

This function can be run in batch mode. The standard task FUNSTOP is provided for that purpose.
In addition to the generic error messages, the following messages can appear during the entry :
The lots in the selection that are becoming obsolete but still have detailed allocations are not taken into account. The log file provides a list of the lots concerned.
this message appears in the process log file for the lots with an expiry date when the product is not managed with expiry dates. This can appear if the management method for the product has evolved with time. Such lots cannot then be processed.
