Use this field to identify the product.

Type in, or select the product code. If you do not know the product code leave this field blank and type a short description of the product in the Description (if product unknown) field.

You can only assign a single product code to a change request. You should also be aware that for successful "change management" only one "active" change request is permitted per product. This is to ensure a change to a product is either seen through to its conclusion and the delivery of that change, or the change request is closed.

You can use the following for guidance when raising this change request for this product.

Question:

Does this product exist on a different change request?

Answer:

No - You can raise this change request for this product.
You can progress this change request through the change cycle.

Yes - You can raise this change request for this product.
You might be blocked from progressing this change request. Determine the status of other change requests for this product then refer to the following table for guidance:

Plan
Implement
Completed

You cannot progress this change request for this product. Its status must remain at New.
The other change request is currently active. It must be rejected and closed (Closed status), or completed and closed before you can progress this change request or a different change request for this product.

Closed

You can progress this change request or a different change request for this product.

You can change the product code as required whilst the status of this change request is New.

You cannot change this product code once this change request has started the change cycle, for example, when its status has advanced to In review. If you do need to change it and the change cycle has started, reject this change request then close it (the status must be set to Closed). You can then raise a new change request for the correct product code, noting the restrictions and rules above.

You must be logged in as the current change manager for this change request to change its status.
