Production Scheduler
Production Scheduler is a planning tool used to view the scheduling of work orders in the form of a Gantt chart. Elements are sorted by production order, by work center, and by workload.
Used in a short-term context, the Production Scheduler function sets up a schedule to implement and distribute workload. It is particularly useful for adjusting unexpected production or supply events.
Used in a medium or long-term context, the Production Scheduler function can simulate workload in order to analyze what a facility is capable of producing within a given objective.
Production Scheduler provides you with 2 types of plan, a "work plan" and a "published plan".
- The "work plan" is the proposed schedule. The planner can apply modifications to the schedule to manually redistribute the suggested machine, labor, or subcontracted workload.
The planner cannot apply modifications to scheduled operations where the start date or start time has been preset in the work order (Forced start / Forced time fields). A forced start date/time is fixed in the schedule and "pinned" automatically. Production Scheduler cannot, therefore, optimize its scheduling capabilities because "pinned" operations are blocked from manual changes. To change a scheduled operation with a forced date/time, using the work order Remove from scheduling action, first remove the work order from the scheduling. You then need to adjust or delete the date/time in the work order and resubmit the work order for scheduling. - The "published plan" is the planner's confirmed schedule. The planner can publish either the original, proposed work plan or their modified work plan.
If the published plan is different from the original, proposed schedule, the elements modified by the planner are updated in the relevant work order records. These can include the work order (WO) start and end dates, scheduling status, WO situation, and, potentially, the work center.
You can use the Production Scheduler viewer function to view the scheduling. You can inquire into elements of the plan and browse through time. Note that you can only use the function to view the scheduling, you cannot use it to reorder elements within it.
Production Scheduler is only available for on-premises instances of (missing or bad snippet).

Entry screen
The planner can apply modifications to a schedule to manually redistribute the suggested machine, labor, or subcontracted workload. Select one of the following actions to "fix" or "pin" a modified operation. This will ensure the "Optimization" process uses the manually forced date/time (Actions > Pin operations):
- Reserve resource: To reserve the resources for the duration of the operation.
- Allow overload: To permit the capacity of the resource to be exceeded for the duration of the operation.
Select the Unpin action to unpin the operation and revert to the original scheduled date/time, then clear the Fixed start date checkbox (Indicators & Details > Operation > Operation fixed dates).

Limitations
The following features are not currently available:
- Material fix start date by integrating MRP calculations
- Optimization of setup times based on multiple item parameters and setup matrix
- Link between production orders
- Multi-resource scheduling (by synchronizing links between parallel operations)
- Custom color schemes (for the load chart, operations, or items)
- List of useable resources with different production rates
- Synchronization links (Full, Same resource, and Resources reservation)
- Multiple environments (Planning sectors / Planning group)
Error messages
The only error messages are the generic ones.
