Restriction codes
In order to ensure the consistency of the analytical postings, it is possible to prohibit the entry of associations between accounts, between dimensions or between dimensions and accounts.
The principle is to define the "restriction codes" combinations that are incompatible upon posting. When two accounts, two dimensions or an account/dimension pair have unauthorized codes, they cannot be used together to post the same entry line.
For instance: account/dimension restriction
Over a dimension view X designed to analyze expenses relating to corporate vehicles, it will be possible to prohibit the posting of accounts other than those likely to record vehicle expenses (maintenance, petrol, taxes, etc.). For instance, on entry, the user will not be able to allocate an account of "turnover" type to a dimension of the dimension view X.
The restriction function makes it possible to define the restriction codes that it will not be possible to associate upon journal entry.
Prerequisite
Refer to documentation Implementation
Screen management
Operating mode (example of an account/account restriction)
1 - Select the two charts of accounts that will be impacted by the restrictions.
The accounts associated with the charts of accounts are displayed in the left list.
2 - In the Code fields, specify the restriction codes set up in miscellaneous tables 321 and 322. The two lefthand-side columns correspond to the first chart of accounts, the two righthand-side columns correspond to the second chart of accounts
After saving, the restriction codes will be automatically transferred to the Restriction code fields of the records of the accounts or the records of the dimensions concerned.
Browsing between the various lines of the restriction codes is performed using the Up and Down arrows, and it conditons the display of the accounts in the bottom grids.
3 - To mention those accounts that are subjected to a restricition:
- Double-click in the left list on the chart(s) of accounts that will be subjected to a restriction. The grids of the accounts are automatically loaded.
- Directly enter the number of the accounts.
Each account mentioned in the list of accounts of the first chart will be "restricted" with respect to each account specified in the list of accounts of the second chart .
