This parameter is used to define the codification of parcels or SSCC (Serial Shipping Container Code) numbers.
The SSCC codes are defined over 18 numbers, according to a codification composed of:

  • A fixed root specified by the SSCCROOT - Root of SSCC code parameter, which can contain from 7 to 10 characters (E, P and F columns below)
  • A code specified using the sequence number counter defined by the SSCCCOU - Counter identifier parameter, which can contain from 7 to 10 numbers depending on the size defined for the root (N column below)
  • A control key (C column below)

The codification structure is as follows:

Root

Sequence number counter

E

P

F

N

C

1 number

1 number

5 to 8 numbers

10 to 7 numbers

1 number

Root:

  • E
Extension character. It can be used to increase the SSCC codification capacity. It is defined by the SSCC issuer.
  • P
Prefix, defined by the EAN (European Article Numbering) It identifies the country of the company which creates the number.
  • F
CNUF national supplier code for France (Code National Unifié Fournisseur).

Sequence number counter:

  • N
Sequential number This number must be unique for a ship-from supplier over a period of one year. If the codification capacity allows it, this number can start with the internal product interface code (French CIF - Code Interface Produit).
  • C
Control key calculated automatically using the 17 previous numbers, according to the standard EAN algorithm

Comments

Once these parameters are defined, the SSCC code is automatically assigned in parcel creation mode and cannot be entered.
