A document is a file stored in the document database (mongodb) that can be accessed by its owner and by members of the team that have a link.
Several sections are present on the page:

DESCRIPTION
This section includes the following information:
Description
User-friendly description of the document.
Read only
If this check box is selected, the document cannot be modified and uploaded again (except by its owner).
Content
This place allows a user (in edit mode) to download a document, or delete it if it has already been downloaded.
Storage volume
Allows a user to define the volume in which the document will be stored. Only a volume stored on mongodb can be selected. In detail mode, clicking the document icon will trigger a download of the document.
Owner
The user who owns the document. By default, the user creating the document record is suggested.
INFORMATION
This section includes the following information:
Document type
Automatically defined, based on the document selected.
Upload date
The date when the document was uploaded.
File name
The name of the file on the repository.
TAGS & TEAMS
This section includes the following information:
Teams
List of teams that can view the document (the selection window allows multiple selection).
Tags
List of tags associated with the document (the selection window allows multiple selection).
Access rights to documents
The rights to access to the documents and the corresponding entities are defined as follows:
Access to volume definition
Volumes describe how / where documents are stored. To read the volume description, you need to have "collaborationArea" rights in your security profile.
To change the description of a volume, to create or to delete a volume, you need to have the "technicalSettings" rights in your security profile.
Access to Printed documents
The storage area is used as temporary buffer of generated reports (as pdf). Only the user having generated the document (identified as "owner" reference on the object) can read, write, or delete the document. Note that such a document is automatically deleted by the internal scheduler after some time (5 minutes).
Access to document templates
Templates are used for Word reports generation and they are associated with an X3 class. The user will be able to read, write, or delete the templates if he has the corresponding rights on the associated X3 class.
Access to Word reports
Word reports are associated with an X3 class and a site. The user will be able to read, write, delete the reports if he has the corresponding rights on the associated X3 class and site.
Access to documents not associated to a Team
A user can read, write, or delete any document not associated with a team, except if more restrictive rights should be applied (Word reports case).
Access to a Team definition
- Teams can be read, written, deleted by users having the "team" rights
- A Team definition can be read and modified by her Administrator
- A Team definition can be read by her Administrator, Authors, Members
Access to documents associated to a team
- Team Administrators can read, write, and delete any document associated with his Team
- Authors can add documents to the team
- Authors can modify and delete the documents they own (Owner reference on the document)
- Members can read documents of their team
