Office client word
The integration of Microsoft Word is implemented as an add-in. This is completely different from the integration in version 6. Once the plug-in is installed, Microsoft Word behaves as a client able to get data exactly as the web client, and with the same level of security.
Launch of the Microsoft Word client
When installed, Microsoft Word is launched from a link on the client. Two types of link can exist:
- A mass mailing link. This happens only on a facet that handles several lines (usually a query). This will allow you to generate a list of mailing pages by repeating a mail merge template document for every record on the query.
- A Microsoft Word report link. This will allow you to create a document that can content the elements on the page, defined by a Microsoft Word report template.
The first time the connection is done, a login and a password are requested. The platform uses 'http' basic authentication: the security can be based on 'https' or on 'Sage ID'. In this case, the user and password input are carried out by an automatic redirection on a server.
Mass mailing function
When this function is used, the system opens a page that gives you the choice between:
- Using an existing template.
- Starting from an new empty document.
- Starting from a new document by using a Word template.
