The miscellaneous tables are related tables used in all contexts of the software for storing codes and some restrictions for attached information. For example, stored here are the tax regimes, the payment methods and the freight terms…
This function is used to define the characteristics of these tables (or to modify to a certain extent the characteristics of existing tables). The definition of such a table is carried out by giving its number, a description (a short description) defining the information that is stored inside, the indicators specifying the way the table is managed, and a grid that makes it possible to provide a list of alphabetical and/or numerical fields, identified by a description, within the limit of 15 alphabetical fields (maximum length 40), and of 15 numeric fields as a maximum.
The length of the code is based on the MAXADI folder parameter. It remains possible for some tables to enter a length shorter than or equal to the length of the MAXADI setup.
An activity code can be associated with any table, which is used to activate or to deactivate it, or even to indicate that the table is a specific/custom development when the activity code starts with one of the letters X,Y or Z.
The tables are assigned according to a standardized numbering plan. The grid below specifies the reserved ranges for any product:
Number range | Module |
1-100 | Supervisor |
101-900 | Standard tables (sub-splitting according to the product) |
901-999 | Standard tables systematically recopied in the client folder |
1000-1999 | Reserved for the vertical miscellaneous tables |
4000-4999 | Reserved for Add-ons |
6000-6999 | Reserved for the specific/custom miscellaneous tables |
8000-8099 | Localization for the USA |
8100-8199 | Localization for England |
8200-8299 | Localization for Spain |
8300-8399 | Localization for Portugal |
8400-8499 | Localization for Italy |
8500-8599 | Localization for Argentina |
8600-8699 | Localization for Germany |
8700-8749 | Localization for Switzerland |
8750-10300 | --- not yet assigned --- |
10301-11999 | HRM |
12000-29999 | --- not yet assigned --- |
Tables 901 to 999:
Usually the miscellaneous tables are copied upon folder creation and are then no longer updated by Safe X3. For some tables, such as table 901 of the chapters for parameters, it is necessary to perform an update upon each client folder validation.
This copy mechanism is applied to the tables of the 901 to 999 bracket:
The table setup (ATABTAB) is copied from the reference folder.
The table content (ATABDIV) is copied from the copy folder.
Be careful with the update of the data by the client: If these tables can be modified, only the codes >= "X" are kept, all the others are updated.
It is thus recommended to only set the "modifiable" flag on a new table of this bracket if it turns out to be necessary.
The grid below specifies the reserved ranges for the Sage X3 product:
Number range | Module |
101-200 | Purchase |
201-300 | Sales |
301-400 | Financials/A/P - A/R Accounting/Fixed assets |
401-500 | Customer Relation |
501-700 | Abel |
701-800 | TMS |
801-900 | Manufacturing |
The grid below specifies the reserved ranges for Sage Warehousing:
Number range | Module |
101-900 | Warehousing |

Fields
The following fields are present on this tab :
Identifier
|
Entered here is the number that uniquely identifies the table to be set up. |
|
This long description is used as a title in screens and reports. This title can be translated and is recorded in the user's connection language.
|
General
|
This short title is used in the screens and reports. This title can be translated and is saved in the connection language of the user. If it is necessary to translate this title into another language, it is possible to access via right click this field in the corresponding translation function. |
|
Select a module for the setup. Use this field to specify if the screen has to be created in the folder database. This is the case when the module linked to the screen is active on the folder. |
|
An activity code is used to:
In this way, if the activity code is disabled, the marked element will not be useable, and the associated code (if any) will neither be generated nor can be activated. |
|
This access code makes it possible to prohibit access to the current record for some users. If the field is populated only users that have this access code with read access rights (and write access rights respectively) can view (or with write access rights, modify) the record. |

This checkbox is used to display also the column 'Legislation' in the Management of Miscellaneous tables:

Can be used to make mandatory the entry of a miscellaneous table code in the "Legislation" column. |

|
Define if the length of the code in the miscellaneous table is modifiable. The user will then define the length of these codes by means as a function of personalization of the miscellaneous tables, within the limit of the maximum length defined in the folder parameters(parameter MAXADI). |
|
The length of the code in the current table is entered here. This length cannot be exceed the maximum length defined in the folder parameters (MAXADI parameter). |
Dependency
|
This field is used to make the values entered in a miscellaneous table dependent on the values entered in another field in the same screen, itself controlled by another miscellaneous table (whose number is indicated here). see document. The fact that this field is defined adds a column titled Dependance in the entry of the lines in the miscellaneous table. It is in this column that the values of the code coming from the dependence table are entered. |

This button is used to revalidate all the screens having a field of type ADI in the current miscellaneous table. This is used to take into account a change in the length of the code in the screens. |
This function is used to access the documentation management on the first paragraph of the documentation (if there is one) associated to the current record.
This function is used to access the link management. It is used to define the links between the current record and other records (for instance the links between functions and parameters). These links are specific to the documentation and are used to load the generation of documentation structures.
This menu is used to launch a documentation generation. The generation can also be launched from the [Generation] button at the bottom of the window.
Three types of generation can be launched one by one or simultaneously:
The range suggested by default takes into account the current record but it can be modified upon launch.
In addition to the generic error messages, the following messages can appear during the entry :
An attempt has been made to modify the code of a dependence table when it is used as a parameter in the xxxxx screen.
An attempt is being made to declare the current table as a dependent table to itself.
The internal type of the data type entered is not accepted for this column.
An attempt has been made to enter a length, for a code in the table that is greater than that declared at folder level.
The title name of the miscellaneous tables can be modified in the following local menus:
