This function is used to define the dimension pyramids for each dimension type.
It is possible to entirely define the pyramid structure from this function (including the link with the basic dimensions).
In the Analytical dimensions management function, set up the link between the pyramid and the basic allocation dimensions.
The pyramid can be built from the graphical representation function.
Refer to documentation Implementation
Presentation
For each dimension type, as many dimension pyramids as required may be defined.
Let us consider an analytical dimension type representing the geographic sectors of the company's agencies (Paris, Marseilles, Barcelona, Madrid etc.):
Level 10 - World | Level 20 - Continent | Level 30 - Country | Elementary dimensions |
World |
| Europe |
| France | Paris 2nd arrondissement |
| Spain | Madrid |
| Germany | Berlin |
| Other |
| United States | New York Santa Barbara |
| Australia | Sydney |
Each group is defined by the list of the sub-groups belonging to it, and/or possibly of the elementary dimensions that are directly attached to it.
If a given level of the pyramid is not comprehensive, the reports obtained for this level are only partial.
This type of analysis is used to detail certain branches of the analysis.
Example: if the "Tokyo" dimension is directly attached to the "Others" group, the reports of the country level will not take Tokyo's contribution into consideration.
When it is not mandatory to enter the allocation of a dimension type, the groupings do not take into account the dimension corresponding to the missing dimension. This configuration corresponds to a voluntary choice by the user to exclude certain operations from the scope of analysis.

Fields
The following fields are present on this tab :
Block number 1
It is a title field. |
This field indicates the analytical dimension type concerned. This field is used to enter or select any dimension view set up in the database. |
This field is used to indicate the code assigned to the group of analytical dimensions. |
It is a title field. By default the short title, the long title or the column header of a data are recorded (on creation/update) in the connection language of the user.
A user who logs on with this language will view the short description, long description or column header in their connection language if a translation exists. Otherwise, these descriptions will be available in the folder language.
This field reuses the code assigned to the parent group from which comes the group of analytical dimensions selected. |
It is a title field of the parent group. |
Identification
It is a title field. The short description replaces the standard description when display or print constraints require it. |
Position
This level MUST be less than 99, level 99 being reserved by convention to the analytical dimensions. |
The printing rank is used to sort the groups belonging to the same level. The printing rank makes it possible to sort out the dimension groups in reports in an order different from the default alphabetical order. |
Management
If this box is checked, the group of accounts can be used in the different existing budgets. |
Grid Subgroup
Account sub-group included in the account group. |
This field assigns the sub-group title. By default the short title, the long title or the column header of a data are recorded (on creation/update) in the connection language of the user.
A user who logs on with this language will view the short description, long description or column header in their connection language if a translation exists. Otherwise, these descriptions will be available in the folder language.
Grid Dimensions
This field is used to enter the analytical dimension code. The setup length of the code is used to define the maximum length of a dimension and dimension type code by dimension type. |
This field assigns the title of the dimension codes displayed. |

By default, the following reports are associated with this function :
LISSEC : List of dimensions
This can be changed using a different setup.
This function is used to create a new pyramid based on an existing pyramid.
This function is inhibited within the framework of operating budgets (dimensions coming from entities or envelopes) for the dimension groups.
Presentation
This function is used to automatically generate a pyramid for a given chart of accounts. For each level of the pyramid, the length of the groups of accounts will be specified.

Fields
The following fields are present on this tab :
Block number 1
Code of the pyramid to be generated. It has probably already been created. |
This field recalls the chart of accounts on which the account or the pyramid (general, analytical, both) will be created or to which they will be attached. |
Grid Details
The numerical value entered in the various available fields makes it possible to establish a hierarchy of groups present in the pyramid. |
The numerical value entered in the various available fields is used to indicate the number of character(s) for each level of the pyramid. |
Block number 3
When checked, this box is used to include any new account or dimension to the defined group.
Example: |
When checked, this box is used to plan the insertion of groups on a same level when they have different length so that each branch of the generated pyramid has the same number of levels. |

This function is used to check the analytical dimension groups.
The system summarizes in a grid the various levels of the pyramid associated with the group.
In addition to the generic error messages, the following messages can appear during the entry :
The dimension group was not created for the selected pyramid and analytical dimension type.
The entered sub-group must be at a definition level strictly greater than that of the dimension group.
The entered sub-group has already been entered on line ##.
The entered dimension has already been entered on line #.
At least one of the sub-groups in the dimension group is at a definition level lower than or equal to the entered definition level.
