V11 prerequisites
This document provides information on version V11 of Sage X3. An overview of the pre-requisites can be found in the Pre-requisites Overview document.
The Sage X3 version V11 platform includes several components. Some of them are linked to the Versions 7 and above platforms, and some are required to support the version 6 technology used by the "Classic" mode.
This component allows you to configure the different servers used in a SAFE X3 solution and to link them together. The pre-requisites are described in Console Pre-requisites.
For SQL server 2014, you can use the X3 Console CFG.236 delivered on the X3 V11 GA installation medium. It is recommended to use CFG.239 for the initial Sage X3 Solution configuration, or to at least update to CFG.239 after the initial configuration.
For SQL server 2016, you must use the latest X3 Console version (CFG.239 or later) to configure the solution. If you don't:
The X3 Console and the X3 supervisor use the OSQL.exe SQL Server utility to:
The "Management tools - complete" SQL Server component handles the installation of OSQL.exe. This component is installed by a separate SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) package.
The SSMS installation package is not delivered on the SQL Server 2016 installation medium but a download link for this package is provided in the setup function.
If the SAFE X3 management console cannot find OSQL.exe, it rejects the installation environment, or it can use a SQL Server environment which may not be the correct one in the case of systems with multiple SQL Server environments.
For this reason, you have to make sure that OSQL.exe is located on all machines where you install and configure an X3 Runtime component (Main, Additional or Test). If you are using the default installation directory tree, you should find OSQL.exe in %ProgramFiles(x86)%\Microsoft SQL Server\140\Tools\Binn.
For some languages, OSQL.exe is not installed by SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) 17.1 or 17.2. In this case:
The application server used by Sage X3 can be installed on a combination of Windows or Linux servers, with Oracle or SQL server databases:
The "Syracuse" web server is based on node.js. It is used to connect to the Sage X3 servers and manage the administration and collaboration data with a nosql MongoDB database.
The pre-requisites are described in Print Server on Windows Pre-requisites.
Note: This feature is only available on-premise. If you are using the Cloud solution, this document is not relevant.
The pre-requisites are described in Production Scheduler Pre-requisites.The pre-requisites are described in Equipment for radio frequency Pre-requisites
Sage X3 uses Crystal Reports as the print engine. The table below shows the version of the Crystal Reports engine used:
Sage X3 Version | Crystal Reports version |
---|---|
V11 | Crystal Reports 2013 |
Crystal Reports 2016 |
Note: To use Crystal Reports Designer 2016, the Print Server version must be ≥ 2.18.
