Cost Comparisons
This function is used to compare two projected costs or two cost prices for a given product, whether they were calculated on the same site or two different sites.
This function is used to calculate the variances in percentage or in quantity, with a comparison by unit or in the total amount. It displays the variances by cost categories (Material, Machine, Overheads) on various tabs.
Prerequisite
Refer to documentation Implementation

Header
Selection criteria
Product
The product on which the costs will be compared must be indicated.
Variance type
The variance type which will be displayed in the last column of the screens must be indicated.
Percentage: The comparison column indicates a percentage. The first cost entered is used as reference cost.
Unit Display
It is possible to either compare the costs by unit (box checked), or compare costs according to the data of each cost calculation (calculation quantity).
Comparison criteria
This paragraph is used to indicates the cost comparison basis. The first cost type entered is used as reference cost in the comparison.
For each cost to compare, it is necessary to indicate:
Site
Site from which the cost is taken.
Cost type
The cost type to compare must be indicated.
Calculation date
The calculation date can be entered for all types of costs.
Work order no.
This number can be entered in the case of a search for a cost with the type PCP or projected cost.
The contextual menu is used to search the required order number.
Level
The comparison can be single-level or multi-level. In single-level comparison, the various cost types of the semi-finished are totally integrated in the material part. In multi-level comparison, they are split between the material part, the machine part, ...

Product (field ITMREF) |
This field specifies the reference of the product to to process. |
Variance type (field DEVTYP) |
The calculated variance can be displayed in quantity or in percentage. |
Unit display (field UNTFLG) |
When this box is checked, all displayed sub-totals represent unit values. |

This can be changed using a different setup.
Error messages
In addition to the generic error messages, the following messages can appear during the entry :
Product ... The record does not existThis message appears after the entry of the product reference if the corresponding record has not been found. You can check this by using the selection window.
Site... The record does not exist
This message appears after the site entry if the corresponding record is not found. You can check this by using the selection window.
Both sites must have the same currency!
This message is displayed after entering the second site if its currency is not the same as the currency of the first site.
Record does not exist
This message is displayed after entering the calculation date (for projected costs) or after entering the order number (for PCP) when no record corresponds to the criteria entered. You can check this by using the selection window.
