The Capacity variation function is used to carryout a mass update of the Variation tab for the selected work centers.
It is also used to carry out the mass deletion of capacity variations.
Prerequisites
Refer to documentation Implementation
Screen management
This screen makes it possible to select the work centers along with the capacity variation to be applied to them.
Selection criteria
Manufacturing site (field WCRFCY) |
The production site associated with the user is proposed by default. It can be modified by another site authorized for the operator, depending on its authorizations. |
Start - end range
Work center group (field WCRDEB) |
The work center group is a physical or fictitious entity grouping several work centers of machine, labor or sub-contracting type. |
field WCRFIN |
Work center type (field WSTTYPDEB) |
This field identifies the type of operation that is performed at this work center. This might be a machine, a labor resource, or a subcontracted operation. Work centers of type Subcontracting are managed externally by subcontract suppliers. |
field WSTTYPFIN |
Work center (field WSTDEB) |
The work center is attached to a work center group. It corresponds to a production resource on which a routing operation is carried out. This is an entity for which it is requested to plan loads and track production times. Each work center is associated with an attachment site. |
field WSTFIN |
Selection formula (field FORMULE) |
Enter, select or build an Enterprise Management filter calculation expression using the formula editor.

Box checked: mass deletion of capacity variations. Box not checked: no deletion of the capacity variations. |
Variation of capacity
Start date (field VSTRDAT) |
Type in, or select the first date of the period of non-availability of this work center. For example, a specific date this work center is not available because of maintenance, or the first date of an operator's leave of absence. |
End date (field VENDDAT) |

Reason (field VCODVAR) |
Type in, or select the code that best describes the reason for this period of non-availability of this work center. Reason codes are defined in miscellaneous table 801 - Capacity variation reasons. |
Structure (field VVARTWD) |
A weekly structure is a set of 7 values, each specifying the hourly capacity of a day in the week.
Calendars are used for calculating the capacity of a work center. |
No. of copies (field VVARWSTNBR) |
The number of work centers makes it possible to manage the number of resources for identical resources in order to carry out an operation. For instance, a labor work center may comprise 3 people. This is indicated by entering 3 in the number of resources. |
Entry screen
The selection criteria
- Site: it is possible to select a site, however by default the site associated with the user is proposed,
- Work center group range: it is possible to filter the work centers to be processed to those within the selected groups,
- Work center type range : it is possible to filter the work centers to be processed by their type (machine, labor, sub-contractor),
- Work center range : it is possible to filter the work centers to be processed to those within the selected range.
Purge

Capacity variation
This section is used to load the variation tab of the work center.
- Start date and End dateend: period during which the capacity will vary,
- Reason: stock variation reason,
- Weekly structure : weekly structure during the period of the variation,
- Number of resources: number of resources during the variation period.
The [OK] button leads to the display of a second screen where the selected work centers and the new variations are summarized.
Variations table:
The grid is loaded with all the processed work centers and their variations. The Period, Reason, Structure, Work center number fields can be modified.
If the period of an existing variation and the new one overlap, the tick box Load existing variations is used, if ticked to modify the dates of the existing variation. In this way, the new variation will be inserted within the already existing variations. On the other hand, if the box is not ticked, no date modification will take place. The new variation will not be taken into account if there is an overlap.
Mass deletion of capacity variations:
The tick box Purge variations in the first screen is used to carryout a mass deletion of the capacity variations. If this box is ticked, the variations can be deleted by using the right click Line deletion.
