Routing codes
Use this function to define multiple routings for a product. The product reference and the routing code provide the routing reference.
You can use the same routing code for up to 3 production BOMs. You can further filter routing codes by assigning the code to a specific site and a specific area of functionality:
- For manufacturing (production)
- In cost calculations
- In rough cut capacity planning (RCCP) calculations
Prerequisites
Screen management
The Routing codes function contains a single entry screen.
Entry screen
Block number 1
Confidentiality
| Access Code (ACSCOD) |
|
The code that restricts user access to the function. When populated, the access code needs to be defined on each users function profile to access the function. |
| Site (FCY) |
|
The production site. Leave blank if the routing code can be used at all production sites. |
Use
| Manufacturing (MFGUSE) |
| Indicates that the routings associated with the routing code can be added to work orders. |
| Costs (CSTUSE) |
| Indicates that the routings associated with the routing code can be included when calculating the standard cost of a product. |
| RCCP (RCCUSE) |
|
Indicates that the routings associated with the routing code can be included in the global rough cut capacity planning (RCCP) charge calculation when the Master Production Schedule (MPS) calculations are run. Note - informationIf you select this checkbox and the Load calculation field (MPSCAPLTI) in the MPS Requirements parameters is set, an MPS processing (FUNMPS) run generates load as order suggestions in the Load in progress table (OPERATIONS). You can view the generated ORS-type suggestions in the Load in progress inquiry function (CONSOPX).
Note - warningThis field is ignored by MRP processing (FUNMRP / FUNMRPG).
For RCCP charge calculations to be included in an MRP processing run, the Load calculation field (MRPCAPLTI) in the MRP Requirements parameters needs to be set. |
Associated BOMs
| BOM code 1 / BOM code 2 / BOM code 3 (BOMALT1 / BOMALT2 / BOMALT3) |
|
The numeric code associated with a production BOM. Multiple bills of material (BOM) can be defined for a single product. Each BOM code can be assigned specific management features. For manufactured or subcontracted products, this includes restriction of the BOM to a specific site and to specific areas of functionality such as for costing or for capacity planning. You need to assign at least 1 production BOM to the routing code. |
Reports
By default, the following reports are associated with this function:
- TABROUALT: Routing code listing
This can be changed using a different setup.
Error messages
In addition to the generic error messages, the following messages can appear during the entry:
X : Commercial BOM code! You can only assign production BOMs to a routing code.
At least one use must be defined for this codeYou need to assign a specific area of functionality to the routing code.
At least one BOM must be associated with this routing code. You need to assign at least 1 production BOM to the routing code.
