Automatic selection
Use this parameter for all fields where a selection from a list of values mentioned in a table exists.
- When this parameter is set to No, no automatic value search is performed.
- If there is only one value, it is proposed automatically.
- When this parameter is set to Yes, an automatic value search is performed based on the following conditions:
- Enter several characters and press the Tab or Enter key on your keyboard to display the results of your search.
Example
Assuming that the currency table contains the following codes in this order:
... AUD (Australian Dollar), CAD (Canadian Dollar), CHF (Swiss Franc) and EUR (euro)...
- If the parameter is set to Yes, the selection window results are the following:
- If you enter AU, only AUD is displayed as an exact match and only option.
- If you enter C, CAD and CHF are displayed as possible options.
- If you enter D, the Currency: key does not exist error message is displayed.
- If the parameter is set to No, an error message is displayed by default in all three cases.
Specificities linked to the product reference
The specificities of the automatic search apply to the Product reference.
The search is performed based on the entered data, switched to uppercase. The search is run based on the module, in the following order of priority:
- Purchase module:
1. In the ITMBPS - Products - Suppliers table, search on the product-supplier code that matches the exact entered character string.
2. In the ITMBPS table, search on the EAN code that matches the exact character string.
3. In the ITMMASTER - Products table, search on the product code that matches the exact character string.
4. In the ITMMASTER - Products table, search on the EAN code that matches the exact character string.
5. Search on the product codes starting with the character string, or on the products whose description includes the string, or whose EAN code matches the character string. - Sales module:
1. In the ITMBPC - Products - Customers table, search on the product/customer code that matches the exact entered character string.
2. In the ITMMASTER - Products table, search on the product code that matches the exact character string.
3. In the ITMMASTER - Products table, search on the EAN code that matches the exact character string.
4. Search on the product codes starting with the character string, or on the products whose description includes the string, or whose EAN code matches the character string. - Other modules (Common data, Stock, Production):
1. In the ITMMASTER - Products table, search on the customer/product code that matches the exact entered character string.
2. In the ITMMASTER - Products table, search on the EAN code that matches the exact character string.
3. Search on the product codes starting with the character string, or on the products whose description includes the string, or whose EAN code matches the character string.
