Mobile Automation (ADC) for distribution

Introduction

In Sage X3, several transactions from the Purchasing and Stock domains, using an automated data collection (ADC) process are available from mobile handheld devices and smartphones. They benefit from an adaptive design.

To simplify the shop floor and warehouse operators' daily tasks, these transactions use streamlined processes, including native device capabilities such as the possibility to scan information. They also include an ergonomic and intuitive web-based UI, guided steps as well as dynamic fields and settings based on workflow, and management by exception meaning that only managed data is displayed. For example, if your products are not lot managed, transactions will not display any field dedicated to lot management.

They are based on secured and reliable exchanges with the data base through encrypted communication.

With mobile handheld devices, these transactions use a dedicated technology which support:

  • Android barcode scanners

  • 2D imager scanning 1D 1 2D codes (barcode, QR code, and Datamatrix code)

With Android smartphones, you need to install the Mobile Automation app and add it to your home page.
The component (APK file) is released at the same time as the release package from the local knowledge base.

The Mobile installation app is only available on Android smartphones. The APK file is not supported on handheld devices such as ZEBRA devices.
