This parameter is used with manufactured products managed by mandatory lot.

A lot management mode is defined on the product record of every manufactured product. The lot management mode can be optional or mandatory. Use this parameter with those manufactured products that are managed by mandatory lot to define at which point in the manufacturing process a lot number is to be automatically associated with the product.

No (stock rules applied) - This is the default value for this parameter. The product record determines at which point in the manufacturing process a lot number is automatically associated with the product. If the lot management mode defined on the product record is set to Mandatory lot, a lot number is to be automatically associated with the product when the first production activity is recorded against a work order. This is referred to as "tracking".

In planning - If the lot management mode defined on a product record is set to Mandatory lot, a lot number is to be automatically associated with the product when a work order is set to status Planned.

In release - If the lot management mode defined on a product record is set to Mandatory lot, a lot number is to be automatically associated with the product when a work order is set to status Firm.

At first tracking - If the lot management mode defined on a product record is set to Mandatory lot, a lot number is to be automatically associated with the product when the first production activity is recorded against the work order.
