Account Pyramids
This function is used to describe dimension analytical pyramids.
Principle of the analytical pyramids
- It is possible to describe as many grouping pyramids as are necessary to each dimension type.
- The analytical information is entered at detail level only (where the accounts can be allocated).
- A budget is based on a chart of accounts and on several dimension types (three at most). The entry is done at the detail or grouping level, with a given aggregation level. Only some groupings can be budgeted.
- The report criteria should specify, for each dimension, the desired aggregation level and potential selection ranges.
The reports are performed via the analysis of the dimension balance, the budget and the financial Data Extraction.

Screen management
Entry screen
This screen is used to create, modify and view an account or dimension pyramid in graphical form.
The graphical components of the pyramid are defined in the function Graphic components . Standard codes are nevertheless delivered by default: PYRELT, PYRGRP, PYRHEAD, PYRJOK.
It contains the following elements:
A header block
It identifies the pyramid and its display characteristics.
A block representing the pyramid
The building of the pyramid is dynamic.
- On a given group, clicking on a group makes it possible to:
- add a sub-group,
- assign accounts -with an explicit name or described with wildcards- to this group,
- consult the detailed record of the group or the element.
- The levels are assigned automatically (by default with a 10-level interval, and starting with level 10 for the header group). In the same way, the printing order is automatically assigned with a 10 level interval, in the display order of the various sub-groups within a group.
The automatic allocation of a level to a group makes it possible to have homogeneous levels from one branch of the pyramid to another.
Similarly, the pyramid structure can be modified on the screen by drag and drop. Dragging an element A of the pyramid to an element B enables the first element to be linked to the second element:
- Left arrow: element A has the same level as element B, but a lower printing order,
- Right arrow: element A has the same level as element B, but a greater printing order,
- Top-down arrow: element A is a sub-group of element B. Its printing order is 0.

Add a group |
This function is used to add a group to the pyramid, and to specify the main characteristics of this group. Limit the group creation to 1,000 in order to maintain readability. An error message is displayed if this limit is exceeded. |
Add an account |
This function is used to:
|
Delete |
This is used to delete a pyramid. This deletion concerns the pyramid as a whole. To delete an element of the pyramid, the corresponding menu can be accessed by right clicking on this element. |
Modify |
This function is used, via a window, to modify the main characteristics of the group. |
Zoom |
This function is used to zoom on the pyramid. The graphical representation starts from the selected group and unfolds its sub-levels. |
Standard rerouting action |
This function is used to access the basic record via a tunnel.

Reports
By default, the following reports are associated with this function :
GLGRP : GL journal account details
GLGRPDEV : General ledger/currency
PLAN : Chart
This can be changed using a different setup.
Menu Bar
This function is used to duplicate the pyramid of selected accounts. The code and description of the destination pyramid must not have been used for another accounts pyramid. Block number 1
Block number 2
|
This function is used to automatically generate or regenerate an accounts pyramid. An error message is displayed when groups have been created for the pyramid to be generated.A non-existent group is not created automatically during the generation. Block number 1

Block number 3
|
This function is used to launch a control on all the chart's accounts considered in the selected pyramid. Grid
|
This option is active only if a "reference pyramid" has been declared for the current chart of accounts. Its goal is to delete and rebuild the pyramid whilst respecting the structure rules associated with the status "reference pyramid". It also preserves the created groups and assigns to them the accounts from the chart of accounts according to their number. Limits
