Use this function to define the stock-site parameters that will be used for processing:

  • replenishment calculations,
  • the stock counts of classes A, B and C,
  • and stock shortage adjustment.

You can create a default setup linked to the site for all product categories or to define a specific setup for a given site and product category.

Prerequisite

SEEREFERTTO Refer to documentation Implementation

Screen management

The stock-site setup contains three tabs associated with a general header.

Header

In this header, indicate the site and any product category associated with this setup.

Tab Reordering Parameters

Enter the parameters that will be used in the calculation of:

the safety stock,

the replenishment threshold,

the economic quantity,

the maximum stock,

This information is updated in the corresponding product-site record once the replenishment processing outside of the MRP has been launched. In fact, this processing can both provide a calculation of the data, and generate the replenishment suggestions (see the Replenishment outside of MRP).

Safety stock

The purpose of the safety stock calculation (and so, of the service rate) is to find the right balance between the storage cost (in stock) and the cost of a stock shortage.
The safety stock calculation uses the following formula:

Safety stock = K*sigma*lead-time

K is a constant that depends on the service rate (please refer to the Safety stock coefficient documentation).

Sigma represents the variance type of the consumption over the calculation period.

The lead-time represents the replenishment or production lead-time expressed in the product-site.

Replenishment threshold (order point)

The replenishment threshold used in the following formula:

Reorder point = (Average daily consumption * reorder lead-time) + Safety stock.

The average consumption day is calculated with respect to a determined historic period.

The average consumption day is calculated on the period [hist min, hist max]

Economic quantity

The economic quantity calculation uses the Poisson formula:

Economic quantity = Ö (2*R*Oc/(I*Uc))

D: represents the requirement over the period

Oc: Cost of processing an order

I: Stock holding rate

Uc: Unit cost. The unitary cost is equal to the standard cost. Calculate the request in a period [hist min, hist max]

Maximum stock

The maximum stock is linked to the products that are the object of a periodic replenishment.

The maximum stock is calculated in the following way:

Max stock = average daily consumption * (reorder lead time + periodicity between two replenishments)

The average consumption day is calculated on the period [hist min, hist max]

Tab Count Parameters

Use this tab to define the physical stock cycle count parameters that are used in the counting function.

Tab Backorder Management

Use this tab to define an order of priority for the adjustment of shortages.
Enter on one hand, the priorities by movement type and on the other, the priorities by movement category.

By default, these priorities are used in the Adjustment function. Shortage stocks.

Reports

By default, the following reports are associated with this function :

  PRTSCR : Screen print

This can be changed using a different setup.

Error messages

In addition to the generic error messages, the following messages can appear during the entry :

Service rate: Safety stock coefficient: xxx record does not exist

A service rate cannot be greater than 99% or less than 50%.
