Level on WO start date change

This parameter—RELSTRDAT—controls changes to the dates that work order components are needed if the start date of a work order is edited.

Yes: This is the default value for this parameter. Reload the list of components on the work order with the default information in the bill of material (BOM) record that's valid on the new work order start date.

Note - warningThe component information on the work order reloads from the master BOM record that's valid on the new work order start date. Previous changes to component information are removed and new components that were added to the work order are removed. The work order needs to be reviewed carefully. Changes that were made prior to the change to the start date need to be re-entered if they still apply to the updated work order.

No: Do not reload the existing component information if the start date of a work order is edited.

Comments

Target production delivery dates can change if the objectives for a work order change or production is delayed. The defined scheduling mode determines the start date of a work order.

  • "Backward" or upstream scheduling respects the defined End date. The system calculates the production start date from the end or required completion date defined in the End date field.
  • "Forward" or downstream scheduling respects the defined Start date. The system calculates the required completion date from the production start date defined in the Start date field.

The target production delivery date calculations rely on the production lead time, reduction factor, and economic quantity defined on the product-site record.
