Links production of the product with a specific project.

The value can be one of the following:

• A project code
• A project code and a project budget code
• A project code and a project task code, that's a material task code, a labor task code (sales only), or a combined (mixed) labor and material task code

If the value of this field includes a character such as an exclamation mark "!", this field links to the structure of the project. The character is the separator between a project code and the structure, either the project budget structure or the project operational (task) structure. For example, if a material task code is "USA-P3" and a project code is "USA12345678", this field displays a link to the project operational structure as "USA12345678!USA-P3."

The product status determines how its availability has evolved. The different statuses are: Active, In development, On shortage, Not renewed, Obsolete, and Not usable.

During product creation, the default status depends on the creation method defined for the assigned product category:

• If the product category Creation method is set to Direct, the product status will be Active.
• If the product category Creation method is set to With validation, the default product status will be In development.

The cost group set on the product.

Cost calculations are used to break down material costs. It defines where (subtotal) the material cost for the product category needs to be posted.

Overhead codes are used as follows:

• To value selected stock movement types.
  The column that defines the formula or fixed rate to be used for the calculation is defined by the OVECOLSTK—Stock overhead column parameter (STO chapter, VAL group).
• To determine the cost price or the production cost price calculation.
  Selected functions use the overhead code for the following:
• To value work center overheads associated with the valuation dimension.
• To value overheads for materials or semi-finished products.

The overheads column that contains the formula or fixed rate to be used in the cost price calculation functions is defined by parameters. For standard cost calculations the OVECOLSTD—Standard calc overhead column parameter (GPA chapter, COS group) applies.

You can modify the column to be applied before running the calculation.

The ratio of how much more or how much less the actual cost is compared to the expected cost.

The type of cost used to value the materials:

Standard cost
Revised standard cost
Budget cost
Simulated cost
Last cost. This value corresponds to the cost of the last recorded movement.
Average cost
Last purchase price. This value corresponds to the last receipt price or last invoice.
List price. The material is valued from a price list with a supplier/product priority type.

The default cost type is defined in the CLCxxxMAT—Mat cost selection xxx calc parameter (TC chapter, COS group), where xxx corresponds to the type of cost calculation being performed: Budget, Standard, Revised standard, Simulation. You can change the default cost type.

The type of cost used to value the subassemblies:

The dimension rate used to value time.

The default cost type is defined in the CLCxxxRAT—Dimension rate selection xxx calc parameter (GPA chapter, COS group), where xxx corresponds to the type of cost calculation being performed: Budget, Standard, Revised standard, Simulation. You can change the default dimension rate.

Defines how overheads are valued. The default column is defined in the OVECOLxxx—xxx calc overhead column parameter (GPA chapter, COS group), where xxx corresponds to the type of cost calculation being performed: Budget, Standard, Revised standard, Simulation. You can change the default column.

The value of an overhead is calculated by applying the fixed rate or the formula in the chosen calculation column.
