This parameter is used in the Production cost price calculation function and in the WIP valuation function for a product.

For each product, it is possible at the level of the Cost tab of the Product-site record, to attach an overhead code to the product.

An overhead code is defined by the calculation method (cumulated or cascade), an application method (on stock receipt, on stock issue) and a list of overhead natures: associated with each overhead nature is a fixed rate to be applied or a calculation formula on the basis of which the overhead value to be posted to this nature for the code concerned will be calculated.

It is possible for a single nature to have up to 4 formulas or fixed rates in 4 columns (column A, column B, column C, Column D).

During the actual overhead calculation carried out at time of the production cost and WIP valuation, it is necessary to enter which formula or fixed rate, that is to say which column A, B, C or D, should be used to carry out the calculation.

The OVECOLMFC general parameter is used to choose one of these columns by default for the production cost calculation or the WIP valuation.
